Nerdtacular: The Aftermath!

UPDATE: The N12 prints are also on the store now for those who still wanted one.

Well, hello there. Guess what? Nerdtacular 2012 ended, and this post is overdue! Been a crazy couple of days, and I could not let any more time pass before giving you the goods.

Before I give you all the info you can eat, I want to just say this: This was one of the coolest experiences of my life, and somehow managed to beat all previous Nerdtaculars. Don’t know how we top it next year, but we’ll sure try.

The concert was amazing, and I recommend you catch a Paul and Storm set whenever possible. John Anealio opened for them, and he was equally perfect for this crowd.

A full weekend of panels, hangouts, and fun. Can’t find a single bad thing to say about it. You guys were AWESOME! So were the sponsors, the volunteers…everyone. It was just about as perfect event as I could ever dream of throwing, and I owe you all a huge debt of gratitude for making it special.

WANT PHOTOS?
Good! Cause we have photos. And don’t forget, if you came and would like to contribute to the photo set, send them to Scott! (myextralife at gmail dot com). here are your photo options:

- Giant Flickr Set
- Shared dropbox folder full of the same photos
(NOTE: These are still syncing, so they wont all show up quite yet.)

VIDEO!
This is coming soon. The entire event was filmed by multiple cameras and with awesome sound quality by the great folks at The University of Advancing Technology, and we will post up Youtube embeds as soon as we have them ready. (DVD’s will also be available soon…cheap too.)

AUDIO
Audio versions of the panels will show up in various Frogpants shows all week and next, so listen for that. (FilmSack and Sword and Laser are already up!)

SWAGBAGS
If you were not able to come, or just wanted another swag bag just for kicks, keep your eye on this link. More coming into stock soon. Along with a few new goodies as well. (UPDATE: New ones in!)

SHIRTS
You can get shirts here! (I am half owner in SlashLoot, so that’s that.)

I’m sure there’s other stuff I am forgetting, but I will edit this post as I remember things. THANK YOU ALL for making this such an awesome event. If 2012 really is the end of the world, I am really glad we did this first. :)

Full Report Coming!

Will put together a full report on the blog soon of everything that went down, where you can still get shirts and DVD’s, and a few surprises as well. Stay tuned!

Costume Contest Rules!

General Update Time!

Today marks the 2 months left point till N12 hits! Seemed as good a day as any to catch everyone up on what’s going on.

The Kickstarter funding, which was incredible and really made it so this year could happen, will finish and fund in the next couple of days. We’d originally planned to have tickets on sale today for general admission to N12, but because some of the Kickstarter reward levels included a choice between tickets and a DVD, we have to get that all figured out this week before the tickets go live. We don’t wanna oversell and have that mess to deal with of course.

We expect that to take a few days, and we’re aiming to have tickets up a week from today. (That’s April 30th, 2012). At least that’s the plan. If it changes, we’ll make sure an let everyone know!

A few reminders: Keep your eyes on the N12 forums, as they have all sorts of great stuff regarding surrounding events, community plans, hotel and rate info, among other things. Also, follow Scott on Twitter for the latest and greatest. And as always, keep your eye on the site for updates and such.

Things are going smoothly. Concert is all set up, food vendors are all locked in, swag is coming together, and prizes are piling up. Not to mention all the great prep going forward for the panels and stuff you’ll see on the big day.

Questions? Drop them in this blog post comment thread, or email us at nerdtacularevent at gmail dot com!

A live chat with Scott about Nerdtacular 2012

UPDATE: It happenend! If you were not able to come, you can download the MP3 right here, or subscribe to the mega feed on iTunes for the file as well.

I’ve been promising that I would take some time, sit down on camera and stream a live Q & A with those planning to attend Nerdtacular, or even those who are still on the fence. Give everyone a chance to ask questions, learn more about the event, accommodations, plans, costs, timelines, etc.

Well, the time has come. And that time is:

Saturday, March 17th, 2012. (That’s THIS coming saturday). At 6pm PST / 7pm MST / 8pm CST / 9pm EST.

Scott and others will stream live at that time, for about an hour or so, and answer as many questions as possible. All questions are accepted. Examples include: “How much are tickets?”, and “will Randy bring his epic beard with him, or leave it at home?”…you get the idea. :)

Where will this stream happen? VIDEO AND CHAT will be RIGHT HERE.

We will also post the entire thing recorded on the Frogpants Podcast Mega feed so those who can’t come can listen to it after the fact. Sound good? Good! See you then!
