It’s Ticket Time!

ticket

Starting today (April 1st…but not a joke, we promise) you can purchase general admission tickets to Nerdtacular 2013! All the important links and details are right here, so off you go! Wait! Before you do, a HUGE thanks to everyone who participated in the N13 Kickstarter this year. You’ve made it more possible than ever to do what we are trying to do with this thing. One of the things I wanted to have happen with this was to get ticket prices as low as possible for the 2 days, and because of the KS support, we did. For two full days, tickets are less than $50.00, and you STILL get awesome swagbags, and other perks no matter the price. I’m really happy about that.

Anyway, GO GO GO!

TICKET PURCHASE:
- Head over to this link and you can purchase your tickets! (If you purchased ticket packages through the kickstarter, you’ll soon receive notice on how to reserve your tickets separately!)

HOTEL RESERVATION:
- Many of you have already registered, but for those not in the know, here’s a few things of note: To make your reservations, call 1-800-453-3000 and make sure you say you’re with Nerdtacular or give them the Group Code: 2BM9SX to receive the discounted group rate.

PLEASE NOTE! All reservations made under the Nerdtacular group rate require a one night deposit at time of booking with the balance automatically charged 3 days prior to arrival. Reservations are fully refundable though up until 3 days before arrival, and if you cancel within three days of the event, you’ll just pay for one night. No shows forfeit the deposit.

If you just want the standard room (that’s the one with the $89.00 rate, plus tax & resort fees), you can also book online at www.snowbird.com. Click on the “Lodging” tab, located at the top of the website, and don’t forget to put in the group code: 2BM9SX. If you’re looking for a different kind of room, you’ll need to call reservations, but we do have discounts on other kinds of rooms. Just call them – they’re super helpful!

Here are the Nerdtacular base rates and rates including Taxes and Resort fee. (These rates are based on 1-2 people in the room additional occupants of room are $10 per night)

The Cliff
Cliff Bedrooms (2 Queen Beds) $89 + Tax & RF = $109.32

TRANSPORTATION TO SNOWBIRD FROM THE SLC AIRPORT:
The Salt Lake City airport is about 25 miles from Snowbird (or 8 miles up Little Cottonwood Canyon if you are already in the valley). You can of course rent a car, and there is parking at the resort. NOTE: No parking fees unless you use valet parking! That’s rad! An airport shuttle can also be booked through the Snowbird Reservation line up to 3 days prior to arrival. Special LIVE Q and A about Nerdtacular 2013

me-on-mic

Scott had the grand opportunity to sit down with the community and do a live question and answer session regarding N13 today. Give it a listen if you were not able to attend the session live! Lots of great info out there. :)

UPDATE: Added hotel pricing and fee specifics to the lower portion of this post. Give it a look.

Plus, HOTEL INFO FINALLY!

Ok, let’s get this going. The Kickstarter for N13 was launched moments ago, and is ready for your support. We’re very happy with the new rewards this year, as well as the ticket options bundled into the various levels. The video will tell you all the good stuff, and I’ll (Scott) will be doing updates quite often to keep you informed on what’s happening on the KS page.

It’s important to note that GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS will be on sale as well, right after the Kickstarter ends near the end of March. So those waiting for that will still have that option. (ie: We are not selling ALL the tickets via Kickstarter…on purpose.)

WHAT ELSE?

Lots more coming to the site and the KS page soon regarding booth space, the daily schedule, musical guests, and more. Stay tuned!

Quick update on N’13!

This is the week you should be seeing the Nerdtacular 2013 Kickstarter launch! We think it should go up Thursday or Friday, and then we are off to the races!

So stay tuned! Big updates soon!

N’13 is expanding, has dates, and you’re invited!

8010190309_a6006795e0_z

It seems like yesterday when this little Nerdtacular thing involved about 80 local fans in a movie theater, ready to watch the mediocre Spiderman 3. So much has changed since then, and I could not be more happy to announce that Nerdtacular 2013 is happening, and happening very soon!

I wanted to use this post as a way to get the early word out about where we are, and were we’re headed in 6 months or so.

N’13 will be held in the Snowbird Summer Resort, just 8 miles from Salt Lake City, in a beautiful mountain canyon. This year, we are doing two full days rather than the usual single day for the event. That means more great panels, talks, prizes, contests, concerts, and more. But most importantly, it means a LOT more personal time with me and other Frogpants producers. Ever wish you could sit down with Tom Merritt and play a rousing game of Munchkin? That scenario is incredibly likely this year. :) Not to mention the spas on site (with discounts), zip-lines, and so much more.

The dates are July 5th through 6th. Many are expected to check in on Thursday the 4th, and stay through Sunday, but all of that is flexible to meet your needs at the event. The location is awesome, and features 8 restaurants all within walking distance of the amazing canyon hotel / conference center we’ll be in. Speaking of hotels, we have secured some INCREDIBLE hotel rates for out of towners, and we will post more about that very soon.

In short, we will have more space, more capacity, more attendees, more content, and more reason than ever to attend your first, or repeat Nerdtacular visit. Could not be more excited about it.

We’ll soon reveal ticket information, Kickstarter plans, and ways you can be a bigger part of the event this year. Keep an I on my twitter feed for breaking info!

Nerdtacular: The Aftermath!

UPDATE: The N12 prints are also on the store now for those who still wanted one.

Well, hello there. Guess what? Nerdtacular 2012 ended, and this post is overdue! Been a crazy couple of days, and I could not let any more time pass before giving you the goods.

Before I give you all the info you can eat, I want to just say this: This was one of the coolest experiences of my life, and somehow managed to beat all previous Nerdtaculars. Don’t know how we top it next year, but we’ll sure try.

The concert was amazing, and I recommend you catch a Paul and Storm set whenever possible. John Anealio opened for them, and he was equally perfect for this crowd.

A full weekend of panels, hangouts, and fun. Can’t find a single bad thing to say about it. You guys were AWESOME! So were the sponsors, the volunteers…everyone. It was just about as perfect event as I could ever dream of throwing, and I owe you all a huge debt of gratitude for making it special.

WANT PHOTOS?
Good! Cause we have photos. And don’t forget, if you came and would like to contribute to the photo set, send them to Scott! (myextralife at gmail dot com). here are your photo options:

- Giant Flickr Set
- Shared dropbox folder full of the same photos
(NOTE: These are still syncing, so they wont all show up quite yet.)

VIDEO!
This is coming soon. The entire event was filmed by multiple cameras and with awesome sound quality by the great folks at The University of Advancing Technology, and we will post up Youtube embeds as soon as we have them ready. (DVD’s will also be available soon…cheap too.)

AUDIO
Audio versions of the panels will show up in various Frogpants shows all week and next, so listen for that. (FilmSack and Sword and Laser are already up!)

SWAGBAGS
If you were not able to come, or just wanted another swag bag just for kicks, keep your eye on this link. More coming into stock soon. Along with a few new goodies as well. (UPDATE: New ones in!)

SHIRTS
You can get shirts here! (I am half owner in SlashLoot, so that’s that.)

I’m sure there’s other stuff I am forgetting, but I will edit this post as I remember things. THANK YOU ALL for making this such an awesome event. If 2012 really is the end of the world, I am really glad we did this first. :)

Full Report Coming!

Will put together a full report on the blog soon of everything that went down, where you can still get shirts and DVD’s, and a few surprises as well. Stay tuned!
