Hi all! Thought it might be a good time to whip up a quick post, with all the goodies you need to know as you make your way to Nerdtacular 2013. Whether you’re flying in, driving in, or live here already, some of this stuff might be useful! So here we go!

- Make sure you’ve seen it! (Printed versions of this will be handed out at the event too! What a lovely bonus that must be because I think it is so it must be.)

- Make sure you take the 4th Snowbird exit! That’s the one you want. Not exit 1. Not exit 2. Not even exit 3. Exit 4 is where you wanna go. (a map to Snowbird, in case you don’t have one. Simple.)

- Bars and Restaurants: There are many! While food and drink outside the resort are not allowed in the common “convention” parts of the Cliff Lodge, there are 8 restaurants and many bars all around the resort. Sandwich vendors, etc etc. Lots of options…you should never go hungry. Or thirsty. Or naked. (Some of the restaurants might mean a little walk here and there, but it’s good for you!)

- Contact info: If you need to call Snowbird with questions, room issues, clarifications, directions, etc., keep this number handy: (801) 933-2222. Oh, and they have this website thingy: Oh! And that shuttle service from the airport? Here if you want it.

- Don’t forget your tickets! (Had to be said.) Oh, and those asking about streaming, we will have a page up on the site soon that you can bookmark for links to audio / video streams, live chatrooms, and more.

That’s all I can think of at the moment. Other than I am really excited to see you all. If anything else pops into my head, expect more added to this post, and track me on Twitter for the latest. (also, follow the hashtag #nerdtacular for what everyone is saying.)

It’s Ticket Time!

Starting today (April 1st…but not a joke, we promise) you can purchase general admission tickets to Nerdtacular 2013! All the important links and details are right here, so off you go! Wait! Before you do, a HUGE thanks to everyone who participated in the N13 Kickstarter this year. You’ve made it more possible than ever to do what we are trying to do with this thing. One of the things I wanted to have happen with this was to get ticket prices as low as possible for the 2 days, and because of the KS support, we did. For two full days, tickets are less than $50.00, and you STILL get awesome swagbags, and other perks no matter the price. I’m really happy about that.

Anyway, GO GO GO!

- Head over to this link and you can purchase your tickets! (If you purchased ticket packages through the kickstarter, you’ll soon receive notice on how to reserve your tickets separately!)

- Many of you have already registered, but for those not in the know, here’s a few things of note: To make your reservations, call 1-800-453-3000 and make sure you say you’re with Nerdtacular or give them the Group Code: 2BM9SX to receive the discounted group rate.

PLEASE NOTE! All reservations made under the Nerdtacular group rate require a one night deposit at time of booking with the balance automatically charged 3 days prior to arrival. Reservations are fully refundable though up until 3 days before arrival, and if you cancel within three days of the event, you’ll just pay for one night. No shows forfeit the deposit.

If you just want the standard room (that’s the one with the $89.00 rate, plus tax & resort fees), you can also book online at Click on the “Lodging” tab, located at the top of the website, and don’t forget to put in the group code: 2BM9SX. If you’re looking for a different kind of room, you’ll need to call reservations, but we do have discounts on other kinds of rooms. Just call them – they’re super helpful!

Here are the Nerdtacular base rates and rates including Taxes and Resort fee. (These rates are based on 1-2 people in the room additional occupants of room are $10 per night)

The Salt Lake City airport is about 25 miles from Snowbird (or 8 miles up Little Cottonwood Canyon if you are already in the valley). You can of course rent a car, and there is parking at the resort. NOTE: No parking fees unless you use valet parking! That’s rad! An airport shuttle can also be booked through the Snowbird Reservation line up to 3 days prior to arrival. The rate is $72 round trip or $38 one way. Attendees will need arrival and departure flight carrier, number and time to make the shuttle reservation. Payment for shuttle is taken at time of booking.
